SafeStor and SafeStorRenter

RepWest, a sister company of U-Haul, needed a redesign of their existing SafeStor webpage and a second website for their latest insurance coverage, SafeStorRenter.

Originally they came to me wanting two different websites, one for each insurance type, but after meeting with the project managers I quickly realized that there was no need for two websites and suggested that I design one website that offers two different insurance types.

I did all of the design and front end code for the website.

Project goals:

  1. Provide easy-to-follow information on what the policy protects against and what is not covered.
  2. Allow customers to purchase new policies and securely manage their policies online.
  3. Provide a helpful FAQ section in order to reduce help desk calls and emails.

I gathered data from the incoming calls and emails to help figure out what the most hold ups customers were having and addressed as many as we could within the FAQ page.

Fun fact: With a little URL rewriting safestorrenter.com and safestor.com both direct you to the same URL but depending on which URL you type in determines the home page you start on.

The SafeStor admin allows RepWest employees to access the information they need in order to start new policies and to look up current policy holders files.

I did all of the UI design and front end code for the web application.

Project goals:

  1. Ability to see the entire Safestor policy network at a glance.
  2. A centralized SafeStor customer page that includes an overview of the customer, any active policies and the entire history of the customer.
  3. Ability to set customers on or off policy auto-renew.
  4. A policy details page that includes an overview of the policy, the ability to edit, renew, or cancel the policy and the entire history of the policy.

The original SafeStor website was a simple, one-page, informational webpage that I designed and coded.

Project goals:

  1. Provide easy-to-follow information on what the policy protects against and what is not covered.
  2. Provide coverage amounts and rates.
  3. Accessible contact numbers and a basic contact form.

Fun fact: This was the very first project I worked on when I joined the U-Haul Web Team back in 2007.
